About the Birth of This Website
I am someone who is a bit obsessive about numbers and likes to control my full financial picture. I used to use Excel to record investments, connecting the GOOGLEFINANCE API in Google Sheets so that entering a ticker symbol would automatically update the current price and percentage change. I also created some simple tables and an asset allocation pie chart to track my investment status. Although Excel is powerful, it still has its limitations, especially when it comes to "Review" and "The Big Picture".
I recently started exploring AI Coding (currently popular Vibe Coding) and thought: "Since I have to keep records anyway, why not try this new mode of 'focusing only on logic, not agonizing over syntax' to build the ideal investment tool in my mind?"
The development process was interesting. Vibe Coding is like the "Index Investing" of programming — I don't have to spend time crafting every syntactic detail (like active stock picking), but rather focus on architecture and functional logic (asset allocation), leaving the execution work to AI.
The result was surprisingly satisfying. I finally built this fully functional, clean-interface Side Project.

Conclusion
Investing is a marathon. The hardest part is not stock selection, but "persistence". And on the road to persistence, we need a little "reward".
For me, the biggest reward Ascent Portfolio gives me is letting me see with my own eyes the financial fortress built brick by brick over the years.
